BURN PERMITS

McLeod County has adopted a county-wide system, and the Townships no longer provide paper-burning permits. Here is what you will want to do to obtain your burn permit:

Call into McLeod County Dispatch at 888-440-3431 and press 0 prior to burning and after the burn is complete.
You will be asked to provide basic information (name, location, contact info, what you are intending to burn, etc.).
The dispatcher will record the caller info, advise if there were any burning restrictions and if there were no restrictions, the property owner is clear to burn.
There is NO fee for this service.
